After completing art school at Colombia College and pursuing a career in visual arts, I was struck by a passion for cooking after winning a local culinary competition. Encouraged by my father, a successful restauranteur, I enrolled in culinary school the next day. I completed my Culinary Arts degree with honors and honed my skills as a line cook in some of Chicago’s finest restaurants. Interested in furthering my abilities as a pastry chef, I then transitioned to a lead role in a popular high volume commercial bakery. I was introduced to food styling after baking for a magazine photo shoot. Intrigued by the craft, I had the opportunity to apprentice with and assist one of Chicago’s top food stylists. My extensive culinary experience paired with a visual arts background has uniquely prepared me for a career in food styling. Currently, I am the in house food stylist for Home Chef, a national meal prep company. Additionally, I work as a freelance food stylist for print, advertising, editorial and video.
